Aruba Update

The F.B.I has reopened the Natalee Holloway case after five years with no new evidence. A couple that was on a cruise ship went scuba diving while the boat was dock in Aruba. The diving snapped a few photos under water and realized that one of the photos resembled the remains on a human. Aruban authorities never convicted anyone of the disappearance on Holloway and said there was no way of getting a conviction without a body to prove that she was murdered. Even after the main suspect admitted to the murder on camera twice, he was never been convicted. Hopefully if the remains are indeed the skeletal remain of Natalee Holloway, and then maybe the trial can be reopened and the case can be solved once and for all. I am a strong believer that the truth will always come out in the end. I can’t help but wonder whether or not the main suspect, Joran Van Der Sloot is panicky and what really happened that night. It is completely possible that the entire event was an accident that he panicked after Natalee died. I can understand how afraid a person can be in a situation such as this, but covering up a crime such as murder is a felony. In this case, it makes me believe that Van Der Sloot was the main cause of the murder. If the picture turns out to the legit and they are in fact the remains of Natalee Holloway, it would be like finding a needle in a hay stack and the truth was meant to be set free.

  1. This makes me both happy and sad at the same time. On one hand if I were the family, finding Holloway’s body would give me a sense of closure and help to put me to ease. Not to mention that Joran Van Der Sloot would finally be punished for what he did. On the other hand, I can’t help but wonder how a potential body in the water is immediately tied to Natalee Holloway. The fact that this photo is all over the news may be giving the family false hope. Not to sound disturbing, but I wonder how many bodies end up in the ocean that no one is looking for. Even if this is actually a body in the photo, there is no proof yet that it is Holloway.
With circumstances like this I can’t help but feel it would be better to keep it under wraps until it is known for sure. The family and friends of Holloway have suffered enough and I don’t like to think that they may be thinking justice will finally be served, when in fact it may not even be a body at all. I could not imagine going through what they are going through and they have been given false hope so many times already – with two on tape confessions of Van Der Sloot and no action taken. I am sure they want the body of their loved one found, I am just not sure it is in their best interest to suggest that it has finally happened when the FBI does not yet have the proper proof needed.
